Split screen tutorial

For our music video we decided that we wanted to use a split screen affect and this was to really emphasise the main theme for our music video.  It helped to show the audience our intended meaning about her battle with mental health by showing what people see on the outside and perceive of someone (dressed in the lighter clothes) compared with how they might really be feeling inside (dressed in darker clothing).  This is a common occurrence for those who suffer with mental health issues they put a front on (mask in fact) and hide their true emotions.  There are many stigmas attached with mental health one of them being 'well they look fine to me' this is why we have based our music video around this sensitive topic in order to try and stop the stigma regarding mental health.  However to achieve this we wanted use of a split screen and weren't quite sure how to do this, so we decided to scout the internet and we found this really useful tutorial, which helped us implement this into our music video.

However this was not the only task, due to us filming our split screen scenes outside we had to do a number of colour corrections and alter the brightness, contrast and saturation in order to make the two clips look like one.
